SPONSONS application to passenger ships: a case study

The present paper discusses the application of sponsons to a twin-screw passenger ferry. Four different versions of sponsons have been designed and tested in a towing tank. The results are compared to the power predictions obtained through traditional methods for twin-screw Merchant ships.
