The new helicopters

The French Navy trend lead to define the naval helicopter as a major sub-system of the ship. The sizing of the helicopter is a result of the optimal share between the ship and the helicopter.

So tasked, the helicopter becomes very complex and expensive. Cooperative programmes become mandatory.

The success of these cooperative programmes shall depend on the quality of the dialog between the partners, which can only overrule the inherent difficulties of such a programme.
