Interministerial programme of surface effect ships NES 200 – General presentation

An interministerial program has been created to develop a 250 tons maximum load surface effect ship. Its task is finished and the first ship will be built by the Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie. After having recalled the different studies realized in the domain of unconventional ships, this paper will present the structure of the interministerial program having allowed the achievement of the SES 200 development studies, the program's status and the decisions concerning the future which have been taken.
