The SM 97 deep submergence vehicle.

This paper describes the realization of the DSV SM 97 (NAUTILE) designed and built by the Direction des Constructions Navales (DCN) for purposes of Institut Français de Recherches pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER).

This vehicle designed to achieve scientific and industrial tasks, is able to dive at a depth of 6000 mt allowing a 3 men crew to carry out on the bottom an 8 hours mission.
