International Autonomous Surface Symposium (ASSS 2008)

Launched early in 2008 by a group companies and research labs belonging to "Pole Mer PACA" organization, the Sea Explorer project aims at bringing on the market place a rupture technology named "Gliders". These small unmanned vehicles, simply propelled by cyclic buoyancy variations, open a new frontier to underwater scientific exploration.

Equipped with a wide range of physical and biological sensors, using acoustic positioning signals these vehicles are very efficient for a better understanding of numerous underwater phenomena.

Gliders conduct numerous missions among which operational oceanography, sea water quality surveillance, data gathering and surveillance in sensible areas.

The Sea Explorer project aims at industrialising a complete range of underwater platforms dedicated to specific missions including scientific data processing and dissemination.
