Condamine harbour extension

Due to the important waterdepths, the bad nature of soils, the concerns of the PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO about maritime environment, a new type of ecologic and economic breakwater has been carried out. Known as "mur d'eau fixe", it is now being implemented to protect and enlarge the old Condamine harbour.

The works are based on large prestressed concrete caissons, precasted in dry docks towed afterwards . to MONACO. A special attention has been paid to the durability of concrete and differences between natural phenomenon and representation given by models.
